A Bit About Me!

Firstly, can I just tell you, I LOVE clothes! I love how wearing a well-designed piece can make you feel a million dollars, while not necessarily costing the earth!

I learnt to sew early on and I’ve always been a creative person – 3 years of Art College and 20 years as a graphic designer. I’ve been an avid ballroom dancer, singer and musician, So lots of opportunities to design and create fabulous outfits!

I’ve found that I have ‘grown into’ my own style. I know what suits me now, but I’ve made a few wrong calls along the way. Wasting money and good fabric with those mistakes really annoyed me, so I started redesigning those things that didn’t suit me. A neckline here, a few darts there and voila, something I would have consigned to the charity bin became a favourite outfit!

Then I began to branch out, dyeing clothes to freshen them up or change the look, making my own pattern pieces OR, and this is one of my favourite challenges, combining 2 or more clothing items to make something really special!

Of course I’ve been happily sewing completely new outfits too – both from commercial patterns and drafting my own patterns inspired by designs I’ve seen. I’ve sewn for friends and family as well as myself…and now I’d love the chance to create for you too!
